..and then in that moment she realized she was living completely and totally wrong. She thought you either had to live outside the walls fending for yourself, or inside the walls under everyone elses instruction. She had met people that had done both and both had succeeded in different ways. She wasn’t one to live quite in the walls but living outside the walls and the instruction was harder than she had thought.  She was pretty good at barely getting by, but barely getting by only gets someone so far.

She realized, living inside the wall, for a time, was tolerable. She realized with a small amount of instruction and help, when she was ready, she can climb the wall, and be able to fend for herself outside the wall.

She realized she was not as invincible as she had thought. She realized everyone is growing in different ways around her. She was growing culturally, her mind was growing smarter, she was well rounded, but everyone was excelling faster than she was. Which gave her all the more reason for settling for being good at barely getting by.

Then she realized, her life was timeless. Everyone around her was living to expectations and standards that people of authority set for them. They were living by a timeline, doing things by the textbook. She saw everyday as a possibility to discover something new. She was a traveler. She was just looking for where she belong. But for god sakes it was not within the walls. Just for a time.
